As a Database Administrator II, you will be a key contributor to the database administration team, responsible for the deployment, administration, and maintenance of databases on the Microsoft SQL Server platform. Your role involves providing advanced Level 3 support, investigating and resolving operational issues, and collaborating on projects with various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain development, test, and production database environments.
  • Collaborate with project teams for database deployments and upgrades.
  • Create and maintain SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages.
  • Review, deploy, and administer security for SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) reports.
  • Identify and troubleshoot server and database performance issues.
  • Administer SQL Server security to protect sensitive data.
  • Adhere to IT Service Delivery standards and Change Control processes.
  • Follow Security and Governance requirements for administered applications.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for troubleshooting and system integration.
  • Serve as a primary or backup DBA for assigned applications.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and prevent downtime.
  • Provide 24×7 operational support with on-call responsibilities shared among the DBA team.

Experience

  • BA/BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Administration.
  • Proficiency in Transact-SQL, including script writing and debugging.
  • Experience with SQL Server 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2019.
  • Knowledge of database design and modeling principles.
  • Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Idera, RedGate, and SentryOne database tools a plus
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience with SSRS report development
  • Setup and administration of Always On availability groups.
