AI Product Manager

Greater Chicago Area

Contract - $60-$90/hr

We are seeking an AI Product Manager to lead the development and execution of AI-driven products and initiatives. This individual will be responsible for identifying high-value use cases, defining product strategy, and ensuring AI solutions are aligned with business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.

This role requires a balance of business acumen, product thinking, and technical understanding of AI capabilities and limitations.

Key Responsibilities

Define and drive the AI product vision, strategy, and roadmap
Identify and prioritize AI use cases based on business impact and feasibility
Collaborate with engineering, data, and business stakeholders to translate needs into product requirements
Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of AI initiatives—from concept through deployment and iteration
Establish and track KPIs and success metrics tied to business outcomes (efficiency, revenue, user experience)
Manage backlog, sprint planning, and product delivery timelines
Ensure AI solutions are user-centric, scalable, and aligned with workflows
Evaluate build vs. buy decisions and vendor solutions
Ensure compliance with responsible AI practices (fairness, transparency, risk awareness)
Communicate progress and outcomes to executive stakeholders

Qualifications

4–8+ years of experience in product management, preferably in data, AI, or technical products
Strong understanding of AI/ML concepts, including generative AI and LLMs
Proven ability to translate technical capabilities into business value
Experience working in cross-functional environments (engineering, data, business)
Strong communication, prioritization, and stakeholder management skills
Experience with agile methodologies and product lifecycle management
