Position Summary:
The Manager of Software Engineering will be responsible for growing and leading the existing 5 person development team. The Manager is capable of providing hands-on technical leadership within our software team and provide direction for upcoming project initiatives. We’re seeking somebody who is passionate about the craft of software development, and someone who can effectively manage a team of senior engineers remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize, lead and contribute to engineering efforts while demonstrating total ownership of projects and programs
- Drive a results-oriented culture with strong, effective leadership
- Contribute to the design and development of existing and new experiences (must have knowledge of coding, heavy development not required)
- Work with company and industry leaders to build and drive technical initiatives as the company continues to scale
Requirements:
- You have 4+ years of experience as a Developer (quality assurance, devops, web, etc.)
- MUST have true management experience (at least 2 years)
- Deep knowledge of industry best practices, conducting team reviews, continuous integration and delivery, post-deployment monitoring and analysis
- Strong, effective communicator with the ability to lead distributed teams
- Experience mentoring, coaching, leading less experienced developers
- Must have experience building out engineering teams
- Bonus points for fintech/ banking experience
