Our client is a Global Financial Services Company with an impressive trading platform and are a power-house in their industry! They are looking for an IT Operations Engineer to join their team immediately. This person is primarily responsible for first-line support to internal and external clients. This position aims to give the best user experience in every interaction and represents the IT Department as a first line contact.

Position Summary

  • Excellent vendor coordination and management experience, with desirable but non-essential experience in PC hardware and basic support. Preferred skills include troubleshooting and basic knowledge of network systems and protocols.
  • Strong organizational skills are required, including the ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail, solve problems, and demonstrate initiative and accountability. Flexibility in adapting to changes and adjusting work hours as necessary is also essential.
  • Key responsibilities include identifying, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues, managing, and monitoring incident responses, and overseeing change management and disaster recovery. Escalation of issues to appropriate IT or third-party groups is expected.
  • The role demands excellent customer service skills and involves working collaboratively with both global and local teams, as well as engaging with other infrastructure groups and IT business teams.
  • Duties also encompass deploying, managing, and documenting a wide array of applications, devices, and systems, with a responsibility for reporting and documentation using the ServiceNow ticketing system.

Minimum Experience

  • A bachelor’s degree (BS or BA) in Computer Science or a related field is highly desired, but not required.
  • Working experience providing technical support as well as vendor, client, or field tech coordination.
  • Driven, eager, professional attitude with interest in pursuing a career in Financial Services/ Trading environment.
  • Exposure to working within mission critical, real-time environments highly valued.
  • Exposure to systems, network, and infrastructure operations support
  • Must have experience supporting network, storage, databases, etc.
  • Exposure to automation – Bash, Python, Shell scripting
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities paired with clear documentation skills.
  • Ability to think on your feet, work well independently as well as with teams, and take direction.
  • Must be able to pass criminal and credit background check*
