Who are they looking for?
Today they are looking for a key player, to act as the right-hand man to the Director of Technology. This leader will manage four resources and work closely with senior leadership to ensure strategic IT goals are met for the business.
The right candidate needs to come from a development background and have a good feel for the most current technology. They will remain 60% hands-on with development and the rest of their time will be spent managing the team and improving development practices. This person will contribute to large-scale decisions regarding platform and future direction and will hold a highly visible role within the organization.
We are looking for someone who has exposure leading a team as well as hands-on experience in web applications and developing a large-scale web platform in the e-commerce environment with various open source technology in place. You MUST have programming experience and be familiar with at least one open-source language. Additionally, hands-on experience with relational database platforms such as SQL or MySQL is needed!
