As a Database Developer, you will play a pivotal role in aligning database strategy with the company’s overall business objectives. Your primary responsibility will be to spearhead database initiatives that not only support but also drive key business decisions.

As a Database Developer, you will be responsible for working closely with a small database team to develop pipelines, create reports for the business, and streamline the database development process for engineers. In addition, you will work closely with leadership to understand business goals, ask the appropriate questions, and make suggestions based on the existing environment for continuous improvement. This is a contract with potential to hire role that offers a remote work setting.

Position Summary

• Take ownership over assigned database systems with a keen focus on aligning them with business goals.
• Collaborate closely with business leaders to gain a deep understanding of the industry and company objectives.
• Demonstrate ownership by managing projects and tasks that enhance business efficiency and growth while contributing to the overall optimization of the database.
• Perform database development tasks such as data modeling.
• Develop and create complex virtualizations within SSRS and PowerBI for business units.
• Design and implement data pipelines and reporting tools that provide strategic insights to support decision-making.

Minimum Experience

• 5+ years of database report writing experience.
• Expertise in MS SQL databases and PowerBI for creating impactful visualizations and reports.
• 3+ years’ experience with developing ETL pipelines.
• Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate technical capabilities into business opportunities.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a self-starter attitude.
• Experience writing complex SQL Scripts from scratch.
• Azure experience.
• Experience performing unit testing on self-written code.
• Have a keen eye for attention to detail in a fast-moving logistics environment.
• Willingness to wear multiple hats within the database environment.
• Proven success working across multiple teams.

• Ability to voice opinions, concerns, and needs in an environment.
• Be a self-starter who knows how to problem solve and eagerness to be a part of continuous. process improvement and a solution-driven mindset.
